Product / Governance

AI should know what your organization believes,
and why.

Governance is what separates a marketing intelligence layer from a clever text generator. It decides what can be treated as true, who can change it, and what evidence a change requires.

Evidence to approvalHuman gate

Evidence

Claim

Review

04

Approved

A lightweight version of the approval gate: evidence becomes a claim, a claim goes to human review, and only a reviewed, approved claim becomes operating truth.
01Provenance

Every claim stays
traceable to its source.

Source, evidence, provenanceEvery claim stays traceable
01 / Claim

“Our ICP is mid-market operations leaders”

Statement inside approved truth

02 / Source

Positioning workshop, Q1

Where the claim originated

03 / Evidence

Win/loss interviews (12)

What actually supports it

04 / Provenance

Attached and reviewable

Traceable back at any time

A provenance chain: a claim inside approved truth links back to the source that produced it, the evidence that supports it, and a provenance record that keeps that trail attached and reviewable, rather than the claim standing alone.
02Version history

What changed, when,
and who accepted it.

Version historyWhat changed, when, who accepted it
01 / Jan

Messaging framework v2 approved

Accepted by Brand lead. Effective: Immediate

02 / Mar

ICP definition narrowed to two segments

Accepted by Marketing lead. Effective: Immediate

03 / Jun

Positioning statement revised

Accepted by CMO. Effective: Scheduled

04 / Sep

Voice guideline candidate under review

Accepted by Pending review. Effective: Not yet

A version timeline of approved truth: each entry shows what changed, when, who accepted it, and its effective date, from messaging framework and ICP changes earlier in the year to a voice guideline candidate still pending review.
03Approval gate

Learning proposes.
A person decides.

A learning candidate arrives with its evidence attached and moves to human review. From there it is approved, edited or rejected — only an approved update becomes operating truth.

Approval-state progressionForward only, through review
Step 01

Proposed

Step 02

Under review

Step 03

Accepted

Step 04

Operating truth

An approval-state progression: a change moves from proposed, to under review, to accepted, to operating truth. It can only move forward through review, and can be rejected at the review step rather than silently applied.
04Conflict

Contradictions are surfaced,
never averaged away.

Conflict visibilitySurfaced, not averaged

Sales deck

01
“Enterprise-first platform”

Website positioning

02
“Built for mid-market teams”
Flagged for review, not resolved automatically
Conflict visibility: when the sales deck says enterprise-first and the website positioning says built for mid-market teams, both claims are surfaced side by side with a flag for review, rather than being averaged into a single blended statement nobody approved.
05Operating principle

AI never silently
overwrites approved truth.

Learning arrives as a candidate with its evidence attached. A person accepts, edits or rejects it. Only then does operating truth change — that is the governance model above, end to end.
